What must I do to be LOST?
By Rev. Dr. William
T. Kidd
I know this may sound like a
strange title. But I want you to understand that just riding a church pew, or
believing in God, is not enough. There are certain things we must adhere to in
order not to be lost!
1. You neglect your duty as a
Christian: JAMES 4:18. What is good? Attending church, Praying, reading your
Bible these is things that you know are good. Nobody should have to tell you not
to use tobacco, not to drink, not to look at pornographic material. That causes
you to lust in your heart and sin. Nobody should have to tell you to obey your
pastor, and follow what he teaches. If you know it is wrong and you do it
anyway. Then you are just like the one who knows to do good and does it not, for
they are the same things.
2. You neglect mercy and help for
others. MT. 25:43
We need to help those who are
less fortunate than us. If we ignore the cry for help of those around us in
need. Then there will be a punishment to fall on us. Pr.21: 13.
This verse is very clear.
Whosoever, not just the saints of GOD, not just ministers not just those who
live righteously. But whosoever stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he
also shall cry himself and not be heard. So the next time you need a prayer
answered think about how many prayers have you answered for someone else. How
much have you gave, and how much have you wanted for nothing. It truly is better
to give than to receive.
3. The most common neglect is
that of salvation.
Some people procrastinate, ACTS
24:25
Don’t be a Felix; don’t put
it off another day. For another day may not come. Today may be your only chance
for salvation. This could be the only time Jesus will ever call you. Not to
mention the rapture could take place at any moment.
Where will neglect of salvation
lead, HE.2: 3
Indeed how shall we escape the
judgment of God by not following the plan of salvation, which is acts 2:38?
Once the plan of salvation is
followed and you are filled with the Holy Ghost. Then you have power to over
come these shortcomings. By putting on the amour of GOD, which is, EPH. 6:14-18.
We need to girt our loins with
truth not with lies, as the devil would have us to wear. We need to tell the
truth even if it hurts us. Then we need to put on the breastplate of
righteousness, not the breastplate of unjustness. The devil will try to put on
us. We need to be holy for the Lord our GOD is holy.
The next part of amour we need is
to have our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Don’t
strive to walk in war and strife. For this is how the devil walks and wants you
to walk. Don’t repay hate with hate, but with love and understanding. Above
all we need to take the shield of faith, not the shield of unbelief. For faith
is what moves GOD into action on our behalves. Not unbelief or acts of
unrighteousness.
We need to put on the helmet of
salvation not condemnation. We need to think with the mind of Christ not the
mind of our flesh. His thoughts ought to be our thoughts.
And the next part of the amour we
need the sword of the spirit which is the word of GOD, not the word of Satan
which edifies the flesh. The one thing you must realize about this part of the amour.
Is that the more word you hide in your heart and mind. The bigger and sharper
your sword gets. We have some people trying to fight the devil with a
pocketknife.
Now the last part of the amour is
prayer, prayer is the most powerful thing in this world that we can develop.
Because it is prayer combined
with faith that brings health when we are sick.
It is prayer combined with faith
that brings strength when we are weak.
It is prayer combined with faith
that brings joy to a broken heart.
It is prayer combined with faith
that melts the hardness of a sinner's heart, when he calls out to God. And says
forgive me I am but a sinner.
Prayer should be our greatest joy
in life. Because it is in prayer we come face to face with our God and creator
JESUS CHRIST!
Without prayer we have no
strength.
Without prayer we have no help in
times of troubles.
Without prayer we have no joy of
heart or peace of mind.
Without prayer we have no
salvation.
The choice is yours you can have
heaven or hell tonight. You can live in a mansion in glory, or the fiery furnace
of hell. God paid the price for you and for me, and the place where we spend
eternity is in our own hands. So what will you choose while you till have a
choice?
Heaven,
Hell?
You have the choice tonight, but
tomorrow you may not have a choice at all. The rapture could take place at any
moment, and God will take his church home. And those that aren't in the rapture,
those that don’t get while the body of Christ while they still can. Your fate
has already been sealed. If you cant live for God while he is the lamb, and full
of mercy. How can you serve him when he is the lion and is going to destroy all
that are evil? And sin is evil rather it is a lie or murder. God will not
differentiate between the two.
So choose you tonight where your
home will be, for tomorrow will never come, and chances are running out.
Don’t do what is right.
Don’t put on the amour of God.
Don’t have a prayer life.
And keep putting off salvation
while it is at hand.
This is what you must do to be
lost.
Remember the choice is yours.
