When God Calls You Out
By Dr. William T. Kidd
When God Calls you out there are some things you are going to have to decide on.
1. We can look at when God Called Abraham out from the life style of worshipping Idols, He called him in to a Life style of faith. We find this in Genesis 12:1
Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
Abram had a very important choice to make, didn’t he? He had to decide if he would change his life to fit God’s plan for his life. This must have been a very tough decision for him to make. He had to leave everything he had come accustom to, his home, his family, his way of life.
But he was promised something from God, and He was willing to change what ever was necessary. Lets look at Genesis 12:2-3
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
What a promise, God not only had a promise just for Abram, but through Abram all the Families of the Earth shall be blessed. That Blessing is Jesus Christ.
Just like when God Called Abram out, he called out his apostles in Matthew 4:19
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And he calls us out still today. Lets look at Acts 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
We can not come to God and remain in sin or a sinful life style. We have to be willing to change when God calls us out.

We need to be aware that there are two paths to follow. We find reference for these two paths in Matthew 7:13-14Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at:
14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.We need to understand that the world has one idea of righteousness, But God has the right idea of righteousness. It puzzles me why people even look to the world to learn of God. If we wanted to know how to build a house. We would go to a builder, not a demolition expert. But this is what so many people do, they go to a sinner to learn how to be righteous. I want you to know God has given us all the instruction we need. So how do some people fall short, and get lead astray. They look to the bible to Justify their lifestyle, instead of looking to the Bible to see how they should live.
We need to come to a point in our lives that we accept Gods word at face value. Until that happens you will never live the life that God has planed for you, and you will be in danger of hell fire. How can someone have faith if they don’t believe all of the Word of God. Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
If you don’t believe the Word of God, Your not letting God lead your life, Which path do you think your on? Don’t you think it is time to let God lead and guide your life?
3.
The worst thing we can do is look back at where we come from and think of it as being good times. After all isn’t this what the children of Israel did when they where called out of Egypt? Lets look at Exodus 14:10-12And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord. 11And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? 12Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
How many times in our own lives have we looked back on something and said; " Boy, those sure were good times." This is exactly what the devil would have you and I to do. But I want you to consider one thing; Think back on that time in your life honestly and you will see that it had rough spots. The reason we remember those times favorably is because we have already been through them. There is something comforting about familiarity; that is why we have to keep our eyes upon the cross, and not on our past accomplishments.
We need to learn that When God calls us Out of Something he has a better place for us to go. And to get there all we have to do is follow where the Holy Spirit and his Word leads us. But to follow the Holy Spirit and Gods Word we must quit looking to the past, and start looking toward the Cross. As long as we are looking toward the cross, we will always be in tune with God.
To enjoy God’s plan for our life all we have to do is be willing to change what ever is not in the will of God, by Going where we are called to go, allowing God to do the leading, and stop thinking about the past.
